S.League

A quite random post. The following are links to the official sites of the clubs in the Singaporian soccer top flight - the S.League.

The interesting thing about the S.League, formed in 1996, is the fact that several of the clubs are made up of overseas players only. Albirex Niigata Singapore is a satellite team of the Japanese J League club Albirex Niigata. There is a team called Sinchi FC, consisting of Chinese players and also an African side which will join the league for the next season - Sporting Afrique. It says quite a lot about Singapore as well.

Singapore is the major force in Southeast Asian soccer. It is the reigning champion of the Tiger Cup, an international tournament for the nations of the ASEAN, the Southeast Asian Football Association.
